A syndicate is a group of pilots under one name, ticker and livery. Members share a hangar at every station, pool materials into group projects, and may fight each other freely for drills. The biggest things in the Reach, capital ships and claimed systems, are built by syndicates, never by one pilot alone.
Steps
- Open the Syndicate window. Open SyndicatePlay to try this
- Found your own, or accept an invite from a syndicate's officer.
- Once you're in, open the Members and shared hangar tabs to see who's online and what the group holds.
Founding a syndicate
Press Found a syndicate and choose:
- A name, 3 to 24 characters, unique in the Reach.
- A ticker of 2 to 5 letters. It appears beside your name, and on every capital you build.
- A livery: primary colour, accent colour and an emblem.
You become its founder. Unsecured pilots can join a syndicate but can't found one; secure your account first.
Roles
| Role | Can |
|---|---|
| Founder | Everything. Can hand the founder role to another member. |
| Officer | Invite and remove members, take items out of the shared hangar, start industry jobs with it, manage projects. |
| Member | Put items in, and start jobs with their own items. |
Officers invite pilots by name, and the pilot accepts or declines. You can be in one syndicate at a time and leave whenever you like. A founder must hand the role over before leaving.
The shared hangar
Each syndicate has a shared hangar at every station, shown as a tab next to your own hangar. Any member can put items in. Only officers can take them out. What you put in stays with the syndicate, even if you leave.
The ledger
Every item moved in or out, every job run and every haul to a structure is written to the ledger, with who did it and what it was worth. The ledger is how a project's contributors' roll is drawn up: everyone who gave materials, ran a job or hauled for it is listed on the finished ship.
What syndicates do together
- Capitals. Design a Monarch, build its parts at industry slots, haul them to a Construction Yard and defend the yard through assembly. See Capitals.
- Territory. Claim a system in the Frontier or the Void with a Claim Spire, and hold it by living there. See Sovereignty.
- Voice. Hold B to talk to every online member, anywhere in the galaxy.
Syndicates and the law
- Members may attack each other at any time with no flag and no conduct loss.
- If someone attacks one of you, the whole syndicate gets the right to retaliate against them for 15 minutes.
- Your syndicate mates carry a Syndicate tag in the Scope and on their brackets.
