The market is one order book for the whole region. Each order sits at a station. You can buy from any sell order in the Reach, and the goods wait for you in your hangar at that station. You can only sell what's in your hangar where you're docked. NPC brokers keep standing orders, so there is always someone to sell ore, minerals and loot to.

Scan probes are sold at every station in the Reach, in any band. A Probe Launcher's market page says what it launches, and a fitted launcher shows how many probes you carry with a Buy Scan Probes button.

- Instant buy takes the cheapest sell order you choose. The items land in your hangar at that order's station, so check the jumps before you buy far away.
- Instant sell fills the best buy order at the station where you're docked.
- Standing orders: post your own buy or sell order at a price you set, and other pilots fill it while you're away. Orders last 30 days.
Fees
| Rate | |
|---|---|
| Sales tax | 4 % of what the seller receives, on every sale. |
| Broker fee | 2 % of the order's value, when you post a standing order. Not refunded. |
Instant trades against existing orders pay only the sales tax. Changing a standing order's price charges the broker fee again on the difference. Brokering and Accounting lower both.
NPC orders
NPC brokers sell standard modules, charges and hulls at stations in Core space, and they never run out. They buy ore, minerals and modules at every station, at a share of each item's value. Data chips and Choir relics from exploration sell to NPCs at every station too. Named, faction and relic modules are never sold by NPCs; you find those in wrecks and sites, or buy them from other pilots.
