Gauntlets
Three waves and a boss, alone, against the clock. Clear it fast and the boss gets worse, and so does its loot.
A gauntlet is a private pocket of space behind a short-lived rift. Only the pilot who opens it gets in. Three waves stand between you and the boss, and a clock is running the whole time.

What you do
- 01
Find one
Scan an Unstable Span Rift among the combat signatures of the Frontier and the Void, or ask any bounty agent to Request a Gauntlet. The rift is yours alone for two hours.
- 02
Heat
Every wave you clear under par raises the heat: Cold, Warm, Hot, Blazing. Cold and Warm runs meet a Cartel Overlord. Hot brings Vex Halloran, a Cartel ace whose wingmen hold his shield screen. Blazing brings Cantor Isaur of the Broken Hymn, who phases out of reach and calls Acolyte echoes.
- 03
Worth it
The hotter the run, the richer the wreck: named and faction modules, schematics, Span residue, and loyalty points from 100 for a cold clear to 900 for a blazing one. Run out of time and you leave with what you’ve got.
- 04
The board
Gauntlets scale to frigates, cruisers and battleships; capitals can’t enter. Each week the Record ranks the best runs per class, heat first and time second, so a blazing clear beats a faster warm one.
